BIO
I specialize in the design of videos, motion graphics, infographics, and diagrams for high-dollar science proposals. I also illustrate cover art for many high-profile science journals. Past covers include Nature Nanotechnology, Neoplasia, and Materials Today, to name a few.
My love for scientific illustration and graphics began at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) and continued at Arizona State University, beginning in 2014 at The Biodesign Institute, where I worked as a senior multimedia developer and then later as an art director for Knowledge Enterprise, specifically Research Development. I have a master's degree from ASU in Graphic Information Technology, which I earned in 2017. My experience in marketing and advertising, which I believe is critical in understanding proper information-based graphics for science applications, affects my design strategy. I focus on impact and persuasion as a method of measuring success.
BEYOND THE BIO
I believe my greatest strength is an ability to make any idea better either by making an existing design more appealing to its intended audience, or by creating something new from the ground up, from concept to completion, that delivers the intended message clearly and effectively that can be deployed across a broad spectrum of media. I am a strong proponent of collaboration, and feel the best ideas come from focused communication.
Everything featured in this portfolio is original artwork, both in concept and development.
